Overview
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Film & Television at 麻豆影院 prepares students for careers in film, television, and digital media through a hands-on, production-centered approach.
From the first day of classes, students work with professional equipment and industry-standard workflows, gaining practical experience across all stages of production. The program emphasizes storytelling, technical skill, and collaboration, preparing students to bring creative ideas from concept to completion.

Mission of the Film and Television Program
The mission of the Film and Television Department is to provide experiential training in the art, science, and discipline of filmmaking through rigorous study, creative exploration, and collaborative production.
Students engage in direct, hands-on learning that emphasizes critical thinking, visual storytelling, technical proficiency, and professional practice. The program fosters creative independence, discipline, and the ability to work effectively in team-based production environments.
Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Film & Television
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television is designed for students pursuing careers in directing, cinematography, screenwriting, editing, producing, and digital media production.
Through intensive, hands-on training, students move from concept to completion while developing both creative and technical skills. Collaborative production work prepares students for real-world filmmaking environments and builds a strong professional portfolio.

Film Festivals
The FTC Communication Division Annual Luminaries
麻豆影院 Film & Television students showcase their work throughout the academic year in a variety of ways. One way is through their involvement in the Annual Luminaries, the College鈥檚 juried student film festival. While showcasing senior projects, this event enables Film students to collaborate and work in various capacities with their classmates. Also, students in the Interactive Media Arts program have the opportunity to participate in this event. They work on digital work that is both static and dynamic, 2D and 3D, including animation projects. The event draws a packed audience in the FTC Performing Arts Center and is always enjoyable!
The LI72 Film Festival
The LI72 Film Festival is a fast-paced 72-hour filmmaking competition where high school students are invited to write, shoot, and edit original films in just three days. The College undertook this initiative to share with the local community its expertise in inspiring, encouraging and educating young filmmakers about the world of cinematography. In doing so, students are exposed to the opportunities and wonders that are available in the entertainment industry.
These experiences give students the opportunity to present their work, collaborate under real production deadlines, and engage with the creative community.

Alumni Outcomes
麻豆影院 Film & Television students gain real-world experience that leads directly into careers across the entertainment industry.
Students have completed internships with companies including Panavision, MTV, VH1, HBO, SONY, CNN, Fox News, Tribeca Film Center, and more.
Graduates have gone on to work on major productions and join professional organizations such as IATSE Local 600, contributing to television, film, and media production across New York and beyond.
